CPD Director Interviewed on Public Radio International

CPD Director Philip Seib was interviewed on PRI's The World this week about the power of media coverage to make the public act upon current issues.

Journalist Alex Gallafent interviewed Seib about how powerful images can set the public in motion to convince their governments, leaders and peers to take action; especially on issues such as the recent famine in Somalia. Human rights activists and aid agencies had warned governments for months but the imagery of the victims, especially children, of the famine are just now reaching the front page. Seib discussed how "the biggest task is just getting through all the noise and letting people know what’s going on" so that they may act and raise necessary funds.
