The Oslo Accords in Theater

The Oslo Accords, signed on September 13, 1993, marked an important point in the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. At the time, Palestinian Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat met with Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in Washington, D.C., and both men agreed to take steps towards resolving the dispute by signing the Oslo Accords.
The play Oslo by J.T. Rogers looks at the role of a Norwegian couple in the signing of this agreement. Rogers says that his decision to focus on the Norwegian couple allowed him create a play about the Middle East without making it controversial.
