The Center on Public Diplomacy is delighted to welcome Garrett Marquis as the newest member of the CPD Advisory Board. Marquis is a leading global public affairs professional and a former White House official, most recently serving as Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs and Spokesman for the National Security Council. Prior to his government service, Marquis founded Prism Group, an integrated public affairs firm that helped clients navigate complex legislative and regulatory environments in the U.S. and Europe. He has extensive experience leading integrated communications plans and international and domestic advocacy programs.
Marquis is a two-time USC Trojan graduate, holding a Master of Public Administration degree (USC Sol Price School of Public Policy) and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences).
"Garrett’s extensive background in communications and global public affairs as well as his inside-the-beltway experience will be an invaluable asset to CPD as we continue to expand our reach to Washington, DC and beyond," said CPD Advisory Board Chair Barry Sanders. “I am honored to welcome him to the Advisory Board.”
“National Security is a crucial context for the practice of public diplomacy, and Garrett’s experience and perspective from serving at the highest levels of our government are immensely valuable,” said CPD Director Jay Wang. “And to have a double Trojan on the Advisory Board is especially meaningful.”
