CPD Supports Academic Conferences

As part of our commitment to developing the field of public diplomacy, CPD regularly supports academic conferences that contribute to dialogue, scholarship, and the practice of PD.

International Studies Association

CPD Director Jay Wang joined many of his colleagues at the International Studies Association in New Orleans this week. Together with Antoneta Vanc of Quinnipiac University and Candace White of the University of Tennessee, Wang participated in a panel entitled "Public Diplomacy and Corporate Communications: Interplay and Influence on National Identity and Image." The session was chaired by Kathy R. Fitzpatrick of Florida International University.

This year's theme, "Global IR and Regional Worlds: A New Agenda for International Studies," explores the study of regions and regionalisms, and will integrate disciplinary and area studies.

CPD also co-sponsored with Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group and Provalis Research the Distinguished Scholar Reception which honored Monroe Price, Director of the Center for Global Communication Studies at the Annenberg School. Professor Price was recognized for his contributions to the International Communication field, as well as for his mentorship of junior scholars.
