In September, CPD hosted a conversation with Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, who spoke with a select group of USC students about issues of climate change, city diplomacy, immigration and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
"The city is on a good level to act—not just about climate change, but also in social policies," said Mayor Hidalgo. "We can build strategy and alliances in cities between citizens, the private sector and NGOs," noting that Paris builds strategies with cities in both the U.S. and Africa to create programs that benefit their citizens.
