How Strategic Communication Can Counter Disinformation
CPD Faculty Fellow Vivian Walker was recently interviewed by the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) on the topic of "Strategic Communication: Influencing Public Perception." In the interview, Walker discusses the role of strategic communication in countering propaganda and disinformation and also highlights the tenets of an effective counter-narrative.
According to Walker, "The mistake we often make in developing effective counter-disinformation narratives is to come up with a justification for our behavior or a policy based on our own needs and interests as a government or an institution instead of understanding and accounting for the issues and ideas that target audiences actually care about."
The full interview is available here on the GFSIS website.
