Three young Canadian Jewish women have helped to launch a new web portal – Omanoot.com – an English-language site showcasing Israeli arts. Quite possibly the first site of its kind, it encompasses all the arts of an entire country, including film, music, literature and visual art.

Latin American artists are in the spotlight at this year’s invitation-only exhibition at the Armory Art Show in Manhattan. Eighteen galleries from Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina—including a big contingent of galleries from Mexico and Brazil—are exhibiting the best of their country’s contemporary art.

Dozens of works of art by diplomats and their retinue and families who live in the city were shown to the public inside a small gallery at the building operated by Bing Stanford in Washington, Stanford University’s campus in Washington D.C.

Many cultural diplomacy endeavors within governments, particularly when using the visual arts, present art in the safety of the traditional museum or mega-gallery. While the reasons for doing so are understandable, it's much more exciting to hear about programs that accept a bit more out-of-the-box type of approach.
