The group, the Active Change Foundation, a community organization in East London, began a campaign this month built around the Twitter hashtag #notinmyname, which has denounced the beheading of the British aid worker David Haines and other brutal acts committed by the radical group Islamic State.

Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Djoko Suyanto has said that the government is employing soft power to protect Indonesians from the influence of Islamic State (IS), also known as ISIL, militants.

This year, its call for "Generations Rise: Elevating Muslim-American Culture," may sound overly ambitious and insurmountable, with the Muslim American population being heterogeneous in ethnicity as well as political attitudes and religious beliefs; but understanding what a healthy culture looks like for the vibrant religious community in the U.S. is vital and timely, especially as challenges with integration of Muslim identity with American culture remains at the forefront of issues impacting American Muslims today.

The beheading of American journalist James Foley, apparently by a British jihadist, has drawn renewed attention to the dangers posed by radicalized young British Muslims. The government estimates that 500 or more British men and women have gone to fight for militant groups in Iraq and Syria, some of whom have already returned.Britain monitors its citizens on social media sites as part of its counter-terrorism strategy.

Assistant of Islamic Relations and Propagation of Astan Quds Razavi said, “Holy Astans and shrines of the Infallible Imams (A.S.) are the soft power of the Islamic World whose spiritual capacities should be employed.”
