Pakistan can learn lessons from Brazil, which has pursued this course in the last two decades and has emerged as the leading nation of South America, they said. The conference on Pakistan-Brazil relations was jointly organised by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) and the Brazilian embassy.

In a conference on ‘Pak-Brazil relations,’ participants highlighted development of soft power, sustained macro-economic stability and conflict-free environment as keys to progress scored by Brazil in the last two years from which Pakistan should learn lessons.

As School of Leadership (SoL) on Monday organised the second session of its nationwide campaign titled ‘Shabash Pakistan’, 250 students of Air University gathered at LTC Hall and pledged to save their motherland by becoming ambassadors of peace. ‘Shabash Pakistan’ is a nation-branding movement started by School of Leadership.

To the cheers of a teeming group of Pakistanis, we walked on stage holding anti-drone signs and pictures of children who have been killed in drone attacks, and delivered an apology for the death of innocent people. "We want you to know that these Americans you see here have been fighting for years against this drone policy, and will continue to do so until we put an end into to these barbaric attacks.

My interest in Pakistan and its people didn't start with politics. Although Pakistan was far away from my Jewish American experience, from the few encounters I had with Pakistani people, I must have instinctively identified – or projected – notions I thought I recognised: Like Israelis and Jews, Pakistanis are also a people with a new country, born of turmoil and trauma (around the same time as Israel) and still under construction.

The United States and Pakistan are planning a joint effort to draw the Taliban toward peace talks in Afghanistan, an initiative that could help reconcile some militants and give Pakistan a say in the political future of its larger neighbor. A joint commission, or "action group," would help vet candidates for political rehabilitation, with a goal of helping Afghanistan frame a workable peace deal after U.S. and foreign forces leave.

Curated by Quddus Mirza, artist, art critic and professor of art, the exhibition features more than 160 pieces of art created by 65 Pakistani artists, in a tribute to Rohtas Gallery and its contribution to the development of contemporary art and artists in Pakistan.

Did India act in haste in endorsing a relaxed visa policy with Pakistan? Should not it have audited the real outcome of the earlier Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) in context of continued support to anti-India activities latest being the cyber war launched from across the border? Or, did India just do the right thing by putting history behind it, to seek a cordial future with its neighbour? The verdict on the vexed debate persists even as hope floats that somehow or the other the warring nations find love together.
