Pilot triage clinics are being funded to help tackle the Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone, UK officials have said.  The idea of the clinics is to test whether people with a fever have Ebola or a less serious bout of malaria.

As the forces of Isis continue their murderous, genocidal and misogynistic advance in Iraq, it is an option that should be seriously considered. In the end, however, only 43 MPs voted against the "something" that the Prime Minister proposed on Friday.

The philanthropic sector has welcomed the Federal Government’s move to join forces with those of the United States, United Kingdom and Sweden to launch a $200 million Global Innovation Fund. Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop said that Australia would contribute $30 million over four years towards the fund that would see the Government take a more creative approach to the planning and delivery of development programs. 

Britain will promote new links with businesses  to manage scarce natural resources and stop deforestation in the developing world, International Development Secretary Justine Greening has announced.  The UK Government’s Department for International Development says it will establish new partnerships between businesses and farmers in developing countries to create multinational supply chains free from unsustainable deforestation.

It is time for China to explore the "recipe" for British cultural soft power, which generates many economic benefits. Cultural charm makes the United Kingdom an attractive option for foreign tourists, students and investors, and it oils the wheels of trade and business. A recent example involved wealthy Chinese businessmen who splashed out as much as 100,000 pounds ($163,160) on a hunting trip in Scotland. 

An unconfirmed report suggests the Islamic State may have beheaded a second British hostage Saturday, less than a week after the execution of another UK citizen, and on the same day the militants released 49 Turkish hostages from Iraq unharmed.
