On World Water Day, the Open Situation Room (OSR) on 'Achieving Water Security: Towards Innovative Solutions' was held at the Four Seasons Hotel, in Mumbai. The event was part of the Humanitarian Diplomacy Lab - an international initiative of the Global Diplomacy Lab [...] Such OSRs were held in seven cities across the globe including Kathmandu, Bogota, Montreal, Geneva, San Francisco, and, Accra.
According to the Declaration, the European Union has provided more than €2.2 billion to water and sanitation projects in more than 62 countries worldwide and will continue supporting people affected by natural and man-made disasters by providing access to clean water.
In recognition of World Water Day 2012, the USC Center on Public Diplomacy would like to acknowledge not just the organizations, governments and international coalitions that provide aid and solutions to water problems, but more importantly the publics that are experiencing water crises around the world.
