On July 8-9, 2016, some of the world’s most powerful heads of state, as well as their foreign and defense ministers, gathered in Warsaw for the NATO Summit. NATO summits, convened every year or two, represent important public diplomacy opportunities for the Alliance. During these summits, NATO nations and partners meet in order to produce a communiqué, which outlines the Alliance’s priorities and initiatives. 

An international forum held in Barcelona this week provided representatives of civil society and local government a chance to tell their uplifting stories of effort [...] to receive and integrate refugees into their communities. Organised by the Public Diplomacy Council of Catalonia, the one-day event saw a series of experts, officials and activists give their accounts of schemes and initiatives to care for new arrivals and, in the process, cast a much more favourable light on Europe.

On April 29th, 2016, the inaugural International Forum for China-Japan-ROK Public Diplomacy and Trilateral Cooperation was held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. During his opening remark, Mr. Zhang Yesui, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs called on the three countries to study establishing a China-Japan-ROK Cooperation Fund and other important initiatives to provide more support for trilateral cooperation.
