Gabriel Bernadett-Shapiro is a contributing researcher to the Center on Public Diplomacy's PDiN (Public Diplomacy in the News) Team, the Center's daily aggregation of media stories that focus on public diplomacy worldwide. Gabriel grew up in Northern California in the Santa Cruz mountains before moving to Los Altos. He graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles in 2010 with a B.A. in Diplomacy and World Affairs, with a focus on Iran. He has since ran an continuing education program at Santa Clara University and taught high school English in both France and Spain.
Gabriel is currently a graduate student pursuing a Master's degree in Public Diplomacy from USC's Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. His research interests include liberation technology and how modern communications tools are shaping political discourse in the Middle East.
