Kathy Artus is a business development officer at Cultural Vistas, where she has developed expertise in international trainee and internship visa regulations set forth by the U.S. Department of State. She regularly works with immigration attorneys and embassy officials to inform them of current regulations, procedures and standards surrounding the J-1 Exchange Visitors Visa.

Prior to Cultural Vistas, she developed expertise in the field of hospitality, holding positions as director of events for James Madison’s Montpelier, Blenheim Vineyards and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. As senior director of programs for the American Energy Society, she established relationships with national sponsors and partners for a series of energy-centered events in the Washington, D.C metropolitan area. As an account executive for Carlson Companies of Minneapolis, she designed loyalty programs, constructed acquisition and marketing strategies, and successfully directed internal teams through implementation. Her client portfolio included several major airlines and a host of large four- and five-star chain-brand hotels. Additionally, she serves as multi-year co-chair of the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital annual fundraiser. She received a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management.
