Vibeke Wang is Senior Researcher at Chr. Michelsen Institute in Bergen, Norway and a coordinator of rights and gender research at the institute. She is an affiliated scholar in the Program on Governance and Local Development at the University of Gothenburg and a steering committee member of the Centre on Law and Social Transformation (Chr. Michelsen Institute and the University of Bergen). Wang’s research concerns questions of politics and gender with a focus on political representation, political recruitment, rights mobilization, law reform and policy outcomes in the Global South. She has a long track record of conducting field research in a number of Sub-Saharan African countries, including Cape Verde, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Comparative Political Studies, Politics & Gender, Political Studies, Representation, Journal of Modern African Studies and Women’s Studies International Forum, among others.
