Glenn Osaki is a global communications expert with nearly four decades of leadership in reputation and crisis management, public diplomacy, and international affairs.
During his six years at the University of Southern California, Osaki has served as SVP and Chief Communications Officer, Senior Advisor to President Carol Folt for International Communications and Marketing, and now Director, Office of International Affairs at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
In this current role, Osaki serves as Director of the USC U.S.-China Institute (USCI) and oversees internal management, operations and strategy for the USC Center on Public Diplomacy (CPD).
Prior to joining USC in 2019, Osaki served as Asia-Pacific President and CEO for MSL Group, the flagship strategic communications and public affairs consultancy of Paris-based Publicis Groupe. A 32-year company veteran, he led the firm’s award-winning Los Angeles office before moving to Shanghai in 2005. There he successfully architected a formidable development strategy that multiplied the 15-staff agency one-hundredfold to 1,500 employees in 41 owned offices through industry-leading organic growth and acquisition of 10 best-in-class agencies across the region. Under Osaki’s leadership, MSL Group became the largest PR agency network in Asia and the region’s most awarded.
Osaki serves on the boards of the USC Annenberg Center for Public Relations (CPR), USC Asian Pacific Islander Faculty & Staff Association (APIFSA), Little Tokyo Business Association (LTBA) and School of Communication and Reputation (SCORE) in India, among others. He holds an M.A. in public relations from the USC School of Journalism, where he was awarded Outstanding Graduate in 1987. He was also awarded Outstanding Graduate from the University of California, San Diego, where he received his B.A. in political science in 1985.
