Shazia Haq
Wiki Researcher, Candidate for a B.A. in International Relations and Print Journalism

Shazia Haq is currently pursing a double major in International Relations and Print Journalism and is expected to graduate in May 2008. As a recent transfer to USC, Shazia has begun her time here writing for the Daily Trojan newspaper and working at the KSCR radio station in addition to interning at the Center on Public Diplomacy. As an aspiring foreign affairs journalist, Shazia feels that international politics is perpetually changing and advancing--- giving way to new areas of research and study. As a result, the field is continually open to constructive deliberation and discussion.

One of the Center’s main focuses is to create an international dialogue that sheds light to universal questions of worldwide importance. Shazia feels that it would be an enormous learning experience viewing how theoretical diplomatic practices come to life in a realistic world setting. She feels that melding the field of international politics and communications facilitates in producing a political dialogue that is coherent, intelligent and practical.

Shazia was born in Los Angeles to Indian and Pakistani parents. She is fluent in Urdu and Hindi and skilled in Arabic and Spanish. In her spare time, Shazia enjoys traveling, going to concerts, playing guitar and reading everything ever written by Max Frisch.
