Warren is a Ph.D. candidate in history at the University of Oxford (Pembroke College) and is a visiting researcher in the Soft Power Program at Tama University's Center for Rule-Making Strategies.
Largely focusing on Japan, Warren conducts research on transnational intellectual history and cultural diplomacy. He also regularly writes, speaks and is engaged in projects related to Japan's inbound tourism, widening participation in Japanese Studies in the UK, careers in Japan, study abroad in Japan, and diversity in higher education. As President of the Oxford Alumni Club of Japan, Warren is active in pioneering academia-industry initiatives that seek to develop fresh and multi-layered ties between the UK and Japan.
He previously served as a Researcher at Asia Pacific Initiative, a Tokyo-based think tank, and led an international collaborative study on Japan's soft power. He received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from International Christian University and an MPhil in Japanese Studies from the University of Oxford’s Nissan Institute.
