Hamas Launches English-Language Website
The Gaza-ruling Palestinian terrorist group Hamas has launched a new English-language website in an attempt to shore up its public diplomacy efforts. “We have launched our English website because we believe that communication matters,” the jihadi group said on its Twitter page. “And because we value your opinions and cherish diversity, we have also added a contact button,” the terror entity wrote in another tweet, adding a smiley face emoticon at the end of the message.

Beijing: China will hold a 30.34 percent stake in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the Finance Ministry said on Monday, making Beijing the largest shareholder in a multilateral institution that will project the country's growing soft power. Women's Football to Connect Chinese, Exiled Tibetans
It is for the first time since its formation in 2011 that the Tibetan women football team in exile is travelling abroad. They would be meeting their Chinese counterpart during the trip. The Tibetan footballers have been invited to attend the Discover Football, the International women's football & cultural festival, in Berlin from June 27 to July 6. Other teams to take part in the festival include Brazil, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Tanzania, South Africa, and China. This year's theme of the festival is 'Beyond Borders.'

Big meals, to be sure, are an indispensable tool of diplomacy. People who have come a long way need to be welcomed and put at ease by their hosts. They are more relaxed and friendly with good food and drink inside them. They feel under a greater obligation to be polite and cooperative. But the EU is not a club of ambassadors, or even of politicians. It is, whether we like it or not, a form of government, a bloated version of a country. It has a commission, a court of justice, a parliament, a legal personality, a passport and a foreign service.
