The cultural diplomacy arm of the Indian government, the council for cultural relations (ICCR) and the government have agreed to open a cultural centre in Thimphu. ‘Homeland Tours’ Bring Chinese Adoptees Back to Visit Their Orphanages

In the early 1990s China made it easier for families from abroad to adopt Chinese orphans, most of whom were girls. Today about 60,000 adopted Chinese children live in North America, and about 15,000 live in Europe. Many families take special tours to give their adopted daughters a chance to experience Chinese culture and visit their orphanages.

Students Represent Northwest at Global Conference

The students joined a group of 150 young citizen diplomats from 15 countries for a week of activities and workshops centered around the theme "Building Enduring Peace after Conflict."
