KEEP READINGNetworked Public Diplomacy
The Asian Journal of Communication has recently published an article titled "Information Networks and Social Media Use in Public Diplomacy: a comparative analysis of South Korea and Japan." This study examines:
"how successfully Korean and Japanese public diplomacy organizations form meaningful networks online and to what extent they attract public engagement in terms of the principle of networked public diplomacy. By mapping the organizational information networks on the web, the activities of the key public diplomacy organizations in both countries were identified as they formed highly intertwined information networks by actively sharing information and resources. However, Japan embraces the networked model of public diplomacy more in terms of diverse membership and non-hierarchical knowledge production process that are major forces to develop policy networks."
