CPD Director Pens Chapters in Two New Publications

CPD Director Philip Seib contributed chapters to two recent publications, the first titled, "Arab Revolutions and Real-Time Diplomacy," in Social Media Revolutions: All Hype or New Reality?" The book was produced and published by the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, following a workshop and panel discussion organized by the Institute in April 2011. Seib was a presenter at the panel, and the publication focuses primarily on the role of social media in the recent Arab revolutions. A complete PDF of the publication may be found here.

Seib also contributed a chapter titled, "Public Diplomacy versus Terrorism," in Des Freedman and Daya Kishan Thussu (eds.), Media and Terrorism: Global Perspectives (London: Sage, 2012). More information about this book may be found at here.

For further analysis of these issues, please see Philip Seib's CPD Perspectives on Public Diplomacy paper titled, "Public Diplomacy, New Media, and Counter-Terrorism," which may be found here.
