CPD Welcomes César Corona as Assistant Director of Engagement

CPD is pleased to welcome César Corona as the Center's new Assistant Director of Engagement.

Corona will provide direct support on event and program strategy and implementation, and will also work closely with other functions at CPD to build relationships with leaders and organizations in the field of public diplomacy. 

"We are delighted that César joins our team to help further the Center’s engagement with the broader public diplomacy community," said CPD Director Jay Wang. "Building a strong network of scholars and practitioners for the field remains the core of our work."

Corona brings to CPD valuable experience, specializing in World Expos and having contributed professionally in various capacities to Expo 1998 Lisbon, Expo 2000 Hannover, Expo 2010 Shanghai, Expo 2012 Yeosu, Expo 2015 Milan, Expo 2020 Dubai and the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). He has held positions at USAID at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, the Direction General of Protocol of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate of Mexico in Los Angeles.

Corona received a B.A. in international relations from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and an MPD in public diplomacy from USC Annenberg, for which he received various awards including the Fulbright-García Robles Scholarship, a graduate-level scholarship for educational exchange funded by the governments of Mexico and the U.S.
