A new, special issue of The Journal of Contemporary Eastern Asia is out now, highlighting unique cases of soft power and public diplomacy across East Asia.
Featuring eight articles that explore, analyze and compare different aspects of public diplomacy and soft power dynamics in the region, topics include China-India relations, Japan's gastrodiplomacy, South Korea's language diplomacy in Mexico City, and more.
"In the last decade, a few books have been written on understanding East Asian practices of and perspectives on public diplomacy and soft power," writes Kadir Jun Ayhan, guest editor. "This special issue represents another attempt to understand public diplomacy and soft power dynamics in East Asia."
