Can a tourist truly live like a local? The app, Like a Local, celebrates tourism diplomacy by offering users a guide to traveling the world by connecting them to cafes, restaurants, shops, museums and other activities off the beaten bath. Travel tips are uploaded by local residents of major cities around the world, and are crowd-sourced to ensure the best experiences are being shared. Another feature, "Ask Locals," allows travelers to submit travel questions to locals.
The app also offers city locals a chance to join the app by sharing their travel tips or even by offering a customized experience, like leading a tour or hosting a dinner. The point is to help travelers avoid tourist traps while immersing themselves into local culture.
