A new joint initiative between the Foreign Ministry and El Al will place flight attendants at the forefront of Israeli diplomacy. They flight attendants will undertake PR assignments which will, among other places, include university campuses around the world.

India and Brazil Tuesday signed a bilateral air services agreement (ASA), intended to increase air-connectivity between the two countries, an official statement said. 'The new ASA has the potential to spur greater trade investment, tourism and strengthening the cultural exchange, besides bringing it in tune with the developments in the international civil aviation scenario,' the statement from the civil aviation ministry statement said.

Austria and Qatar have boosted their bilateral relations with agreements on double taxation and air transport. While one accord ensures that income and capital aren't taxed twice, the other provides the basis for future negotiations on, among other things, the number of flights between the two countries.

Etihad, national airline company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has opened a new office in Turkey. According to a written statement issued on the issue on Wednesday, Etihad Airlines started to give services in June 2009 and the new office, opened in Besiktas district of Istanbul, showed the importance attached to Turkey.

Emirates is to increase flights from Dubai to Al Medinah al Munawarah in Saudi Arabia to seven flights per week from 31 October 2010 due to the growing importance of economic and cultural ties between the two nations.

Nigeria is now one of just six African nations to have gained the "Category 1" status from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, allowing domestic carriers to apply to operate direct flights to the United States with their own aircraft..."This achievement is an important milestone for Nigeria and U.S.-Nigeria bilateral relations," U.S. Ambassador Robin Sanders said at a news conference, adding the move was the culmination of years of work between the two nations.
