India and Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday signed six MoUs including in the fields of tourism, agriculture and food industry, youth development and broadcasting and exchange of audio-visual programmes. The agreements were inked after the delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the visiting Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Sharshenovich Atambayev in New Delhi.

The Photo BRICS contest aims to facilitate international cultural dialogue between BRICS countries through photography and other visual aids. This year’s contest witnessed submission of more than 1,000 photos by youths from Brazil, India, Russia, China and South Africa. The 10 best photos (48 works in total), capturing nature and architecture of the BRICS countries and symbolizing the countries’ values won awards.
 

Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has entered into an agreement with Tajikistan’s Committee on TV and Radio for cooperation in the field of broadcasting. According to official sources, the two sides can exchange programmes in the fields of cultural, archaeology, history, food, festivals, education, science, entertainment, sports, news as areas of mutual interest.

With international students abundant in the campus, every Indian student in the course will be assigned to a foreign student. The Indian student will then learn about his or her companion's country, life, the hardships he or she has faced, etc. Officials at the college feel this will take the students beyond text-books and help them learn the ground realities of various countries.

An all-Filipino choir brought some early Christmas cheer during an event in the United Kingdom's capital. The 'Festive Prelude,' produced by non-profit organization the International Culture and Arts Exchange London, took place in St. Stephen's Church in Gloucester Road, West London, on December 11.

South Korea is one of the key Asian nations that Kenya has been keen to build robust relations with. Over the years, the Kenya-Korea relations have been growing. In the years between 2010 and 2012, a Korean Studies project was deliberated upon by the University of Nairobi, the Korean Foundation, the embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kenya  which was to put the two countries relations on another level.

Still, the Australian Volunteers for International Development program is just a small piece of Australia’s aid program. 

As Hollywood comes to China in desperate search of new, lucrative audiences, China is desperate to harness something of the elusive magic. If it can build its own film industry, the argument goes, it can use it to develop its so-called "soft power", in the same way US movies have carried American values and norms around the world for a century or more.
