Protesters staged one of Vietnam's largest ever anti-China demonstrations on Sunday, decrying Beijing's deployment of a deep-water drilling rig in contested waters as territorial tensions soar.  Some 1,000 people, from war veterans to students, waved banners saying "China don't steal our oil" and "Silence is cowardly" – a dig at Hanoi's handling of the dispute –and sang patriotic songs in a park opposite the Chinese embassy.

Egyptian security forces clashed with student demonstrators in central Cairo on Sunday after thousands rallied in anger at the death of a young engineering student. Mohamed Reda was shot Thursday by riot police after joining anti-regime protests at Cairo University. The young man’s fate has fueled defiance across the nation’s campuses, which since July have been experiencing their most violent period following the 2011 revolution.

Rallies against Kyiv's decision to shelve a landmark pact with the European Union are gaining momentum in Ukraine, with students emerging as the backbone of the protests. Students have been skipping classes to protest President Viktor Yanukovych's abrupt policy U-turn away from Europe in favor of closer ties with Russia. The decision came just days before he was expected to sign the pact at a summit in Vilnius on November 29.

Bangalore: America doesn’t seem to be the only option for Indian students; the attractiveness of degrees gained form U.S. universities has started to diminish, reveals a report by the GMAC World Geography Trend Report, as reported by Dailybhaskar.com. It is seen that Indians now prefer cheaper destinations such as Singapore, France, and China for higher studies.

As School of Leadership (SoL) on Monday organised the second session of its nationwide campaign titled ‘Shabash Pakistan’, 250 students of Air University gathered at LTC Hall and pledged to save their motherland by becoming ambassadors of peace. ‘Shabash Pakistan’ is a nation-branding movement started by School of Leadership.

All members share the same fundamental values of liberty, democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human rights. And all our members are prepared to defend these values whenever necessary”, he added.
