Mr. Smith has practiced law in Georgia since 1991. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration Degree from the University of Georgia in 1988, and his Juris Doctor Degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 1991.
He is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Smith maintains a practice with an emphasis on business, products liability, wrongful death, personal injury, and international law.
He regularly advises and represents European companies on issues relating to entry into the U.S. market. In 2006, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II appointed him Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Denmark. In 2016 he was knighted by Her Majesty the Queen.
A frequent lecturer, he is regularly quoted by the media and makes guest television appearances on a variety of programs. He has won numerous awards including “The Governors International Award for Individual Contribution to the State of Georgia”. He and his family reside in Macon, Georgia.
