Elizabeth returns to CPD after her junior semester at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Liz will be assisting as the CPD Events and Programming Intern and working on the 2012 CPD Summer Institute in Public Diplomacy. She will assist in organizing and coordinating the Center's events, such as the CPD Conversations in Public Diplomacy, CPD Annual Research Conference, and other co-sponsored events. Elizabeth provides critical research on potential speakers and programming for the Center's annual research conference and handles speaker travel, lodging, and on-campus coordination.

Previously she was at the Center as a front desk office student assistant who helps organize and manage the office. Originally from Sacramento, she is a junior at USC pursuing a major in International Relations and a minor in Business Administration. As an International Relations major, her studies focus on international security and the Middle East. She has studied Arabic and hopes to minor in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies.

Elizabeth’s interest in public affairs grew with her previous experience interning in the Press Office of the Governor of California, and she hopes to expand her knowledge of public diplomacy and international affairs through her work with CPD.

In addition to her studies, Elizabeth is involved in the USC College Republicans as Secretary, and she is a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She loves to travel and plans to study abroad in either Europe or the Middle East next spring. Elizabeth enjoys watching USC football, horseback riding, baking, playing a variety of sports, and spending time at the beach.
