Manqi Cai is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Digital Social Media at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

Manqi received her Bachelor of Arts in International Communications Studies with Spanish in 2022. As an undergraduate student, Manqi focused much of her research on relations between China and Europe in terms of cultural exchange. She did much translation work between English, Chinese and Spanish. She has interned at an official news agency and television station in China, serving as a creative content developer and director respectively to attract global audiences.

Manqi now studies social media's impacts on politics, business, and society. She is interested in intercultural communications, popular culture, and cultural identity with a regional focus on East Asia. She hopes to explore the implication of dominant mainstream popular culture under the context of globalization.
