Sasa is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Vienna, Department of Communication in Austria. She is researching the role of public diplomacy as strategic communication in multi-stakeholder global governance. In particular, her PhD research project examines strategic public diplomacy approaches that non-state actors use while participating in Internet governance debates in order to reach their goals.
Sasa has worked in strategic communications, media and NGO relations, public information and knowledge management in various capacities at the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency. She started her professional career as a radio and television journalist in her native Slovenia, while also working as a stringer for the BBC and the Voice of America. She holds degrees in Journalism and English from the University of Ljubljana, and a Masters in Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she was a Ron Brown Fellow and taught TV news production.
