Taleen Ananian is a research intern with the Center on Public Diplomacy, where she contributes to Public Diplomacy in the News, the Center's daily aggregation of media stories that focus on public diplomacy worldwide. She also manages communications and program planning work for the Southern California Leadership Network, a partnership with the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, where she is responsible for implementing community initiatives and programming for the organization's Leadership L.A. and Leadership Southern California participants and graduates, as well as maintaining the website and other event communications. Ananian is currently a master's candidate in public diplomacy at USC's Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. Her interests in public diplomacy range from international broadcasting to cultural diplomacy.
Ananian graduated from the University of Southern California in 2006 with a B.A. in broadcast journalism from the Annenberg School and a minor in Spanish. While at USC, she co-founded a live news radio program on student-run KSCR 1560 AM and contributed as a writer, camera operator and editor to Annenberg Television News.
In her spare time, Ananian is a volunteer member of the Museum Service Council at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and serves as a member of the Young Professionals Advisory Board to Inner-City Arts, a non-profit organization located in downtown's Skid Row that provides arts education for L.A.'s most disadvantaged youth.
