From a brief online search, I gather the United States sent a string of chargéd’affaires to the Republic of Texas. Did the Republic of Texas ever send an ambassador to Washington? Was there ever an embassy?

Islamic Centre: Saudi Arabia’s Strategic Move On The Afghan Chessboard – OpEd

Afghanistan is an ideal springboard and battleground for the spread of Saudi Sunni Wahhabism and Iranian Shiite fundamentalism throughout Central Asia; especially out towards the former Soviet breakaway nations that are hungry for any teaching necessary to fill the failed Bolshevik indoctrination vacuum; especially any form of Islam.

US Embassy offers internship programme

The US Embassy is inviting university students to apply for its Foreign National Student Intern Programme. In a press release, the embassy said the voluntary programme is designed to introduce university students (non-US citizens) in Guyana to the work of the mission in the Public Affairs Section of the embassy while providing short-term educational experience.

Election 2012: PD Implications?

When I think of the "implications for public diplomacy" in the wake of the 2012 election, I can only come with—zero, zip, zilch... All of this is to say that few elements of our foreign policy will, for awhile, be a significant part of our national conversation. Thus, a small subset of our foreign policy concerns, like public diplomacy, will be even less salient.

YouTube and MEA launch global short film contest

YouTube and the Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of External Affairs of India launched a unique initiative last night. Titled ‘India is...a visual journey’, this initiative is a global short film-making competition which invites filmmakers as well as amateurs from across the globe to make a short film celebrating India and her diversity.
