CPD Partner Receives MacArthur "Genius" Grant

Professor Viet Thanh Nguyen has just been named a 2017 MacArthur Foundation Fellow for fiction and nonfiction. Nguyen is Aerol Arnold Chair of English and professor of English, American studies and ethnicity at the University of Southern California and received the Pulitzer Prize in 2016 for his first novel, "The Sympathizer." CPD's exclusive interview with Nguyen about this work can be found here. An April 2017 video portrait of Nguyen's views of the terms "expat," "immigrant," and "refugee," co-produced by CPD with USC Annenberg Media reveals the enormous range and depth of his scholarship.
