The Embassy of the United States in Philippines and the National Basketball Association (NBA) put together a U.S. Sports Diplomacy convoy to help Typhoon Yolanda victims. Basketball clinics were organized as part of the U.S. State Department's Sports United Program not only to provide the victims with a source of hope and a temporary refuge, but also to promote Sports Diplomacy and the values of leadership, respect for diversity, sportsmanship, and team work.
