Zimbabwe is crafting a national diaspora website, aimed at facilitating the engagement and participation of citizens living out of the country in national development, the Ministry of Macro Economic Planning and Investment Promotion has said. In a statement, the ministry said the website was part of operationalising the diaspora policy.

President Mamnoon Hussain has asked the High Commissioner-designate to South Africa to protect Pakistan’s national interests and promote bilateral political, economic and trade relations; while projecting the soft image of Pakistan. [...] The president called for looking after the interests of Pakistani diasporas in South Africa and other concurrently accredited countries. 

Eritrean nationals residing in different cities in Italy held public diplomacy activities. At the congress in which over 600 members participated, two years activity report was presented and a new executive committee elected. Likewise, Eritreans residing in the cities of Napoli, Palermo, Catania and Bari conducted seminars on the objective situation in the homeland and the role of Eritrean nationals residing in the Diaspora.

“Hosted by the University of Guyana with support from a team of leaders in the diaspora and other stakeholders, the Conference is organised around two overarching pillars: human, social and entrepreneurship development and diaspora philanthropy and diplomacy,” UG said in a statement.

[The prime minister] announced a slew of new procedures to help people of Indian origin (PIOs) in Girmitiya countries (where PIOs are descendents of indentured Indian labourers) obtain overseas citizen of India (OCI) cards even if they had left India four or five generations back. Along with Surinamers, PIOs from countries like Fiji, the Reunion Island, Guyana and other Caribbean states will benefit from the new norms. 

Heather Humphreys launched a new cultural initiative called Creative Ireland at the Irish Consulate in New York on Friday. [...] Creative Ireland is the government’s Legacy Program for Ireland 2016. It is a five-year all-of-government initiative, from 2017 to 2022, which at its core is a strategy which aims to improve access to cultural and creative activity in every county across the country and among the diaspora.

Dosa Hut? Curry Truck? Chaat Parlour? Sushi Corner? Falafel Carts? These are some of the oddities that have sprung up and can be spotted in many cities of the US, but nowhere is this more ubiquitous than in the huge megalopolis of New York whose culinary countenance has undergone a dramatic transformation as migrants from every corner of the world stream into the city.
