The Palace of Arts in Budapest on Friday was home to a photo show and the presentation of an album combining the beauties of China and Hungary, as well as a ceremony re-introducing a volume of classic Chinese poetry published in Hungary.

The Netherlands Hungarian Chamber of Commerce together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Budapest organized a 'Meet & Greet' event for their members with two special guests: H.E. Ms Orsolya Szijjártó, the new Ambassador of Hungary in the Netherlands and Mr Elzo Molenberg the new Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Economics Section of the Netherlands Embassy.

Lasting until 5 October, the event is the biggest design festival of Austria and this year’s guest is Hungary.
 

The US, UK and other states have pledged aid and humanitarian assistance to help rescue refugees fleeing Isis in northern Iraq.  The US has launched two airstrikes against the Islamic State. The defence secretary, Chuck Hagel, announced on Tuesday that 130 troops were being sent to Iraq as "assessors", joining 450 troops already there.

The program has been so successful, in fact, that it’s inspired spin-offs among other cultural groups. The idea that young people of a certain heritage should visit their ancestral homeland — the “birthright” behind the name of the Israel program — is not exclusive to the Jewish diaspora, and that’s the thinking behind programs following in Birthright’s footsteps.
