The Palace of Arts in Budapest on Friday was home to a photo show and the presentation of an album combining the beauties of China and Hungary, as well as a ceremony re-introducing a volume of classic Chinese poetry published in Hungary.

The Netherlands Hungarian Chamber of Commerce together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Budapest organized a 'Meet & Greet' event for their members with two special guests: H.E. Ms Orsolya Szijjártó, the new Ambassador of Hungary in the Netherlands and Mr Elzo Molenberg the new Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Economics Section of the Netherlands Embassy.

The US, UK and other states have pledged aid and humanitarian assistance to help rescue refugees fleeing Isis in northern Iraq.  The US has launched two airstrikes against the Islamic State. The defence secretary, Chuck Hagel, announced on Tuesday that 130 troops were being sent to Iraq as "assessors", joining 450 troops already there.
