Chinese universities “stand to gain” from the “anti-global” atmosphere in the US under Donald Trump, especially if they introduce reforms to make academic culture “more lively and open”. That is the view of Gerard Postiglione, chair in higher education at the University of Hong Kong, who said that some academics and students may look to universities in China instead of those in the US in the near future.
A Chinese Diplomat has recalled the vital role African countries played in ensuring that the People’s Republic of China regained its status at the United Nations, while calling on African journalists to help strengthen the ties between Africa and China. [...] “So China and African countries are forever friends; China has returned to the United Nations mainly due to the support from African friends."
The training topics include China’s political, cultural, media and economic studies amongst others. Other activities will include touring China, covering major political activities at the National People’s Congress and other major events like the BRICS economic summit slated. The development studies and media exchange is being organized by Renmin University of China (RUC) based in the capital, Beijing.
After meeting with the President of the Republic of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, the Prime Minister of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, said that relations between the two countries “have regained their traditional strength” following the State visit by the Argentine leader. The Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC), the cultural wing of the Indian Embassy in Cairo, yesterday organised a seminar on ‘Cooperation in Entrepreneurship between India and Egypt’. The seminar was part of the ‘MACIC Roundtable’, a monthly seminar series involving youth, academicians, culture lovers, civil society activists, on issues of mutual interest to India and Egypt.
In terms of people to people exchange programmes, Ethiopia is one of the largest from Africa in terms of getting Chinese government scholarships. More than 4,000 Ethiopians have been offered such scholarships in China over the past ten years, he noted.
The United States and its ally The Republic of Korea, established a reciprocal exchange program in 2008. Through Korea WEST (Work, English, Study and Travel) academically gifted students are recruited and selected to participate in the language and professional internships through visa sponsors like AAG. In return, American students are given the reciprocal opportunity to intern in Korea.
The conference is organized by United Cultures, supported by the Embassy of Greece in Azerbaijan, in cooperation with the Greek tour operator Panhellas, the Italian Cultural Center in Baku and media partner International Eurasia Press Fund, Azertac reported.The event aims to present the touristic potential of Greece and the exchange of opportunities in the tourism sector between Greece and Azerbaijan.
