Stelling, a German national, holds a master's degree in Communication Research, Chinese Studies and Linguistics from Bonn University. He lives in Dubai, UAE with his Australian wife Donna Furlong Stelling, an expert in sports diplomacy and has traveled all over Asia since the mid-1980s.
