Soraya graduated from the Masters of Public Diplomacy program at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism in 2015. In her role as CPD Program Assistant, Soraya helped manage the center's event programming, professional training opportunities and office management. Previously, she worked as an Assistant Registrar with Universiti Sains Malaysia in the International Office for four years, and then for four years as an Assistant Director with the Public Service Department of Malaysia. Her diverse work experience has exposed her to public diplomacy in action, and cultivated her interests in faith diplomacy and globalization, cultural and exchange diplomacy, the role of education in public diplomacy, and public diplomacy and diaspora (narratives and sentiments).

In addition to her work with CPD, Soraya handled the coordination of American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute (AMCLI) at USC Center for Religion and Civic Culture.

Soraya also has a Masters degree in Science and Environmental Journalism from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication (Journalism) from MARA University of Technology, Malaysia.
