U.S. Still Has Fans Among Israeli and Filipinos, But Mideast is Less Than Impressed

Israelis are the world's second biggest fans of America, with their 84 percent favorable opinion trailing only that of the Filipinos, with 92 percent. When ethnicity is taken into account, Israeli Jews are neck-to-neck with the Filipinos, with a 91 percent favorable opinion. Only 46 percent of Israeli Arabs are favorable to America, however.

Iran’s CHTHO and India’s Council of Cultural Relations Sign MOU

Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization (CHTHO) and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations have signed a memorandum of understanding.  The two countries have agreed to expand collaboration in cultural heritage and tourism activities, he added.

S.F. Startup Telerivet's SMS Could Help Developing Nations

As Hillary Rodham Clinton's first senior adviser for innovation, Alec Ross was one of the State Department's biggest champions of digital diplomacy, an advocate for a style of statecraft that capitalized on the technology and culture of the social networking era to reach people around the globe. Now Ross is betting on a San Francisco startup as an agent for change in developing nations: He recently joined the board of Telerivet, a company that has developed a cloud-based, short message service (SMS) to allow people in the world's most remote corners to communicate with basic cell phones.
