KEEP READINGCPD Director Philip Seib on panel about social media
On February 5th, Philip Seib, Director of the Center on Public Diplomacy, participated in a discussion titled, “Social Media Unrest”. The panel of experts on the Middle East, was hosted by METal (Media Entertainment Technology Alpha Leaders) which focused on, “what social media means for business, politics and our future.”
METal is a membership group which intends to provide a variety of opportunities, intellectual interests, and support mechanisms built on shared values across the media, entertainment and technology space.
Panelists included:
• Mohamed Nanabhay, Head of Interactive for Al Jazeera (based in Doha Qatar)
• Imam Jihad Turk is the Director of Religious Affairs at the Islamic Center of Southern California
• Amr Zaki, Cairo based senior partner at Abdel Motaal, Moharram and Heiza (founded in Cairo, Egypt in 1926) and he acts as counsel and legal advisor to both Egyptian and international private and public entities
