KEEP READINGShowtime – Expo 2015, Milan
On May 1, 2015, the World Expo opened its doors to a hungry crowd in Milan, Italy. For the next six months, 145 countries will participate in the World Expo, showcasing their food, culture and ideas to an estimated 20 million attendees. Yet while the World Expo is an opportunity for countries to “fly their flags and show off their soft power assets to attract tourism,” it is also a melting pot for global publics to think critically and constructively about global issues, such as food security and sustainability, and how to feed 9 billion people by 2050.
As this video reveals, Expo Milano is an extravagant feast for the eyes and the planet, celebrating food, culture, countries and the millions of “visitors eager to get a taste of the future.”
