India has become the third most popular destination for young Australians with a total of 569 students opting to undertake short-term study projects in various disciplines in the country.

MIKTA – an association consisting of Mexico, Indonesia, Korea, Turkey, and Australia – is still a relatively new platform, having been formed in 2013, but it may now be confronted with its first real opportunity to have an impact on the global stage. 

Using a project in central Australian Aboriginal communities as an example, Pamela Nathan shows that sharing stories and acknowledging the humanity and inhumanity on both sides of the racial divide helps towards true reconciliation.
