It is understood Sky News proposed setting up a dedicated channel for China to run separately from the rest of the network as a way of expanding Australia's reach in the Asian powerhouse, where censorship limits foreign news broadcasts.... the Foreign Affairs Department has said it is keen to gain access for Australia's public diplomacy channel.

Chinese Internet company Baidu says it has reached an agreement with Microsoft to provide English-language results generated by the U.S. software company's Bing search engine. The agreement, announced Monday, will automatically direct English search requests to Bing and its results will be displayed in pages in Baidu's search engine.

The U.S. and China have much to gain from collaborating on transnational issues. If power is the ability to obtain the outcomes one wants, it is important to remember that sometimes our power is greater when we act with others rather than merely over others. The rock band Radiohead has made a move to join the world of social networking in China. The group has been critical of the Chinese government’s censorship in the past...but the band has started a page on the “weibo” site of Sina.com, which has been described as the Chinese equivalent of Twitter.
