Cultural Diplomacy

An exhibition and a lecture on the history of Kuwaiti-Indian relations kicked off here on Sunday as part of the 21st Qurian Cultural Festival.

Sister Cities International grew out of a White House conference on citizen diplomacy called by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956.

In a world in which diplomacy has expanded from government-to-government contacts into public and cultural diplomacy and in which nations are ranked as much on their performance in high-profile international tournaments as on other attributes, autocratic abuse of sports and its impact on soccer, including performance, is nowhere more prevalent than in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Atlanta Sister Cities Commission, a volunteer organization that helps coordinate Atlanta’s relationships with 18 world cities, partnered with the city’s Office of International Affairs to host the evening event, which attracted diplomats from Germany, Nigeria, France and many other countries.

Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang on January 8 announced remarks in external activities in 2014 and diplomatic orientations for 2015. Viet Nam also closely coordinated the Party and State’s diplomacy and people-to-people exchange with national defense and security.

The conference was about cultural diplomacy and gathered many Italian diplomats who traveled the world and started writing.

The project is expected to raise awareness of the 1915 events among Turkish and Armenian youth, help establish closer ties between the young people, raise the level of mutual understanding and respect, and reduce the tension.

The Russian language is fading in the region, and there seems little Moscow can do about it.
