Music and Diplomacy from the Early Modern Era to the Present is a book edited by Rebekah Ahrendt, Mark Ferraguto, and Damien Mahiet which delves into the topic of music diplomacy by analyzing historical and contemporary cases. It explores how music (its concepts, practices, and institutions) shape the exercise of diplomacy, the pursuit of power, and the conduct of international relations.

A musical homage to President Xi Jinping of China and his wife, Peng Liyuan, has circulated widely online in recent days, a sign of how the public face of Chinese leadership has changed since Mr. Xi took office two years ago.

The Sydney Symphony Orchestra has a won a prize in the inaugural Australia-China achievement awards.  The orchestra won in the arts section of the awards, which are administered by the Australia-China Council at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

A cast of UK artists and celebrities gathered, with the guidance of Sir Bob Geldof, in a song aimed at raising money to aid in the Ebola crisis, the Daily Mail reported.
