A delegation of young Chinese public officials is visiting South Korea at the invitation of the Korea Foundation to seek exchanges with South Korean municipal governments, the foundation said Tuesday.

India and South Korea on Saturday launched a platform to promote and facilitate investments from the East Asian country.The platform 'Korea Plus' was launched by Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her South Korean counterpart Joo Hyunghwan. "It is a special initiative to promote and facilitate Korean Investments in India," the commerce and industry ministry said in a statement.

Ewha Womans University is providing its online Korean studies lecture to a Kenyan university. The university said Wednesday that it launched a 16-week lecture series by Professor Min Byoung-won on the Korean economy and development for students at the University of Nairobi in the Kenyan capital on June 3. About 40 Kenyan students majoring in Korean studies are participating in the real-time online lectures. 

Members of Korea's foreign and local media enjoyed a Korean cultural experience hosted by the Senior Public Diplomacy Group (SPDG) at Unni Sarangbang in central Seoul, Friday. Featuring an evening of traditional Korean foods and beverages and instrumental and vocal music performances, guests were also treated to a speech on international cultural events by host Choi Ha-kyung.

ASEAN-Korea Tourism Development Workshop, the venue gathered over 100 representatives from the government, private sector and academia to discuss recent trends and possibilities in the industry. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations is promoting a form of tourism environmentally nondestructive, socially responsible and commercially sustainable. 

Traditional allies driven to act as their rivals step up efforts to win over their friends. "If China feels that US effort to contain China is getting severe and intense, China will make the strategic move to invite Kim Jong Un to Beijing as an international warning to the US," he added.

The 22nd Seoul International Book Fair, which will take place under the theme of "Communicate with Books, Design the Future," will be attended by 346 publishers from 20 countries. "Digital Book Fair Korea" will also be held alongside the main event. [...] This year, French and Italian books will be under the spotlight as the countries have been designated the "Culture Focus" and "Spotlight Country," respectively.
