Kerry Velez enjoys demystifying development topics for public audiences and specializes in the relationship between the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean. She is a communications consultant with prior experience as a digital strategist and social media project manager at the Inter-American Development Bank, a senior communications associate at Marathon Strategies, and an event producer at Jack Morton Worldwide.

Kerry holds a USC Annenberg Master of Public Diplomacy and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from Emerson College. Throughout her Master's education, Kerry researched post-conflict nation-state development, nation brands and digital diplomacy, and organized a conference on reconstructing national identity post-conflict. She was a 2017-2018 USC Center on Public Diplomacy Graduate Fellow and, in 2019, transitioned to be their Social Media Coordinator, following the launch of CPD's Instagram. When Kerry's not working, you can find her hanging out with her dog Windsor or getting involved in local community projects.
